Building an Inclusive Library Through Universal Design In-Person

Over the course of this half-day workshop, where attendees will gain an understanding of the principles of Universal Design and Universal Design for Learning and how these principles can be applied to library design and programming projects. The workshop will consist of a mix of lecture, discussion, and hands-on activities that ask participants to critically consider the existing spaces and practices at their library. Attendees will leave with a firm grasp of the principles of Universal Design and Universal Design for Learning and the tools and strategies necessary to make concrete changes at their libraries. The workshop will be led by Carli Spina, Head Librarian for Assessment and Outreach at Boston College.
